Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information ComeTool ("we", "us", "this website") does and does not collect when you use the tools on this site, and how any information that is collected is used. We designed ComeTool around a simple principle: your files and your data stay on your device.
1. Your files never leave your device
Every tool on ComeTool — PDF tools, image tools, converters, calculators, text utilities and all others — runs entirely inside your web browser using JavaScript. When you select a file or type text into a tool:
- The file or text is processed locally on your own computer or phone.
- Nothing is uploaded to our servers. We do not have servers that receive, store, or process user files.
- When you close or refresh the page, the data is gone. We cannot recover it because we never had it.
Two narrow exceptions, disclosed on the relevant tool pages themselves: the Speech-to-Text tool relies on your browser's built-in speech recognition, which in some browsers (such as Chrome) sends audio to the browser vendor's servers for processing; and any tool that loads an open-source library from a content delivery network (CDN) fetches that code file the same way any website loads a script — the CDN does not receive your files or text.
2. Information we do not collect
- We do not require accounts, sign-ups, or logins.
- We do not collect names, email addresses, or contact details.
- We do not store the content you process with any tool.
- We do not sell any data — we have no user data to sell.
3. How information is used
The very limited technical information described in this policy is used only to operate, secure, and improve the website: serving pages reliably, keeping the site safe from abuse, understanding aggregate usage of our pages, and funding the site through advertising. We never use your tool inputs or files for any purpose — we never receive them in the first place.
4. Advertising and cookies (Google AdSense)
This website is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. Advertising networks use cookies and similar technologies. Specifically:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookie use at www.aboutads.info.
For more detail on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
5. Analytics
We do not currently run analytics that identify individual visitors.
6. Server logs
Like virtually all websites, the hosting provider that serves ComeTool's pages may automatically record standard technical logs — such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps — for security and operational purposes. These logs are managed by the hosting provider and are not used by us to identify visitors.
7. Local processing and browser storage
Some tools store working data on your own device so it is still there when you return — for example, the Notes scratchpad, Habit Tracker, and Expense Tracker save their contents in your browser's local storage. This data lives only in your browser: it is never transmitted to us, we cannot see it, and you can erase it at any time by clearing the tool's entries or your browser's site data. Other tools hold data in the page's memory for the current session only, which is cleared when you close or reload the tab.
8. Third-party sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties — we have none to share. The only third parties involved in this website are: Google AdSense (advertising, described above), public CDNs that serve open-source script libraries, and our hosting provider (standard server logs). Each operates under its own privacy policy.
9. Data retention
We retain no user content: files and text you process are never received by us, so there is nothing to retain or delete on our side. Data saved by tools in your browser's local storage remains on your device until you remove it. Hosting-provider server logs are kept according to the provider's standard rotation schedules for security purposes.
10. Security
The site is served over HTTPS, which encrypts pages in transit. Because processing happens on your device and no user files or accounts exist on our side, the most common risks of data breaches — leaked databases, stolen credentials, exposed uploads — do not apply to ComeTool. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but our design minimizes what could ever be exposed: nothing of yours is stored with us.
11. Children's privacy
ComeTool is a general-audience utility website and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Since our tools do not collect personal information, no special parental action is required; the advertising described in Section 3 is handled by Google under its own policies.
12. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data. Because ComeTool does not collect or store personal data, in most cases there is no data held by us to act on. For data processed by Google in connection with advertising, please use the Google links in Section 3, which allow you to review and control ad personalization directly.
13. External links
Pages on this site may link to external websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of other sites, and we encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, if we add new features or if advertising requirements change. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
