🪶 Compress PDF

Shrink a PDF's file size — everything happens in your browser, nothing is uploaded.

How it works

Each page is rendered to an image at the resolution you choose, re-encoded as a JPEG at your quality setting, and rebuilt into a new PDF — entirely in your browser, so your file never leaves your device. The honest trade-off: because pages become images, the output loses selectable text and clickable links. This method shines on scanned documents and photo-heavy files (often 50–90% smaller); on already-optimized text PDFs it can make files larger, and the tool will tell you plainly when that happens instead of letting you download a worse file unknowingly. Your original is never modified — always keep it.
